UGC NET Exam 2024: UGC NET Exam 2024 date has been announced. According to the NET exam revised schedule, the exam will be held between 21 August and 4 September. NTA has also told when the exam city slip will come on the UGC NET official website ugcnet.nta.ac.in. This time the NET exam is being conducted only in CBT mode.

UGC NET Exam 2024: New dates for the UGC NET (National Eligibility Test) June 2024 exam have been announced. These exams will now start from August 21 and will continue till September 4. Earlier, the exam held on June 18, 2024 was canceled due to the possibility of irregularities. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a public notice on Friday and informed about the new dates of the exam. Information about which city the student’s exam center will be in will be given through NTA’s website ugcnet.nta.ac.in ten days before the exam i.e. by August 11. The June 18 exam was held in pen and paper mode, which also caused controversy and now it will be held in CBT mode.

This time only CBT for 83 subjects

This exam is conducted for the appointment of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges and for Junior Research Fellowship. For admission in PhD courses in universities and higher education institutes of the country, now admission is done on the basis of UGC NET score. This exam will be for 83 subjects. NTA has released the subject wise schedule of the exam on the website and information has been given about which subject’s exam will be held when. UGC NET Exam 2024 to be held from 21st August will be held only in Computer Based Test i.e. CBT mode.

The exam which was canceled on 18th June was held in pen and paper mode, but now NTA has returned to CBT mode again. Most of the NTA exams are now being held in CBT mode only. The exam will be held in two shifts. There will be a shift from 9 am to 12 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm.

On August 21, there will be an exam for English, Japanese Language, Performing Arts, Dance, Drama, Theatre, Electronic Science in the first shift and on the same day in the second shift, there will be an exam for other subjects including English, Dogri Language, Spanish, Russian, Persian. Similarly, exams for different subjects will be held on 22, 23, 26, 28, 29, 30 August. Exam dates have also been fixed for 2, 3 and 4 September.

Why was the UGC NET exam cancelled earlier

UGC received some inputs regarding the exam from the National Cyber ​​Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber ​​Crime Coordination Center under the Ministry of Home Affairs. These inputs were prima facie indicating some irregularities in the exam, after which the exam was cancelled and a decision was taken to conduct the exam afresh. Now the new dates of the exam have been announced.

The exam held on June 18 was conducted in OMR mode (pen and paper pattern). For the last several years, this exam was being conducted in Computer Based Test i.e. CBT mode. 11.21 lakh students had registered for the June exam and 9.05 lakh candidates appeared for the exam.
