Schools have been declared closed in Moradabad due to Kanwar Yatra in schools from nursery to class eight of all boards. This holiday will be on 10th, 12th and 17th August. On the fourth Monday of Sawan also a large number of Shiva devotees will come out carrying Kanwar. Schools have been closed so that Kanwariyas carrying Gangajal do not face any problem.

School Holiday: In view of the Kanwar Yatra, District Magistrate Anuj Singh has given instructions to keep schools up to class VIII closed on Saturday, August 10, Monday, August 12 and Saturday, August 17. Only schools and colleges located on Kanth Road, Delhi Road, Rampur Road within a radius of five km in the city limits will remain closed.

Schools up to class VIII of all boards including Basic Education Council, Secondary Education Council UP Board, ICSE, CBSE will remain closed. The District Magistrate has issued these instructions to avoid any accident in view of the Kanwar Yatra.

Officers looking after security arrangements

The police and administration are making tight arrangements for the Kanwar Yatra. SSP Satpal Antil went to both Delhi Road and Kanth Road on Monday to personally inspect the security. The Superintendent of Police (Rural) along with the Area Officer Kanth and Police Station Incharge Chhajalat checked the duty at Umri intersection in view of law and order in the context of Shravan month and briefed about the duty and after ensuring safe passage of the groups, inspected the Kanwar route and inspected the CCTV cameras installed on the route.

Superintendent of Police (Rural), Sandeep Kumar Meena, Circle Officer, Kanth, Apeksha Nimbadia and Police Station Incharge, Chhajalat checked the duty on Sahaspur border in view of law and order. CCTV cameras on Kanwar route were also checked. SSP said that no one is facing any problem during Kanwar Yatra, Kanwar Yatras are being conducted peacefully on all routes.
