In a strategic move to strengthen its AI capabilities, Google has appointed Noam Shazeer, the founder of Character.AI, as a technical co-lead for its flagship AI project, Gemini.

Shazeer, who previously worked at Google and later co-founded Character.AI, is returning to the tech giant along with his colleague Daniel De Freitas. The transition is part of a broader effort by Google to enhance its AI research and development.Shazeer's return to Google was highly anticipated and involved a significant financial commitment.
