HDFC Bank Credit Card New Rule: From August 1 today, HDFC Bank’s credit card customers are going to get a shock. From August 1, 2024, HDFC Bank credit card holders will have to pay new charges and revised charges on different transactions. These changes will be applicable in rental payments, educational expenses and many other transaction categories. Check the new charges.

Rent payment:

Customers paying rent through third-party apps like CRED, Cheq, MobiKwik, Freecharge will now be charged 1% on the transaction amount, limited to ₹ 3,000 per transaction.

Fuel transactions:

Fuel transactions below ₹15,000 will attract no additional charge, but transactions above ₹15,000 will attract a 1% charge on the entire amount, capped at ₹3,000.

Utility transactions:

Utility transactions below ₹50,000 will attract no additional charge, but transactions above ₹50,000 will attract a 1% charge, capped at ₹3,000. Insurance transactions will remain free from these charges.

Education transactions:

Education payments made directly through college or school websites or POS machines will remain charge-free. However, payments made through third-party apps will attract a 1% charge, capped at ₹3,000. International education payments are excluded from these charges.

International transactions:

A 3.5% markup charge will be applicable on international or cross currency transactions, increasing the cost for those making purchases or transactions abroad.

Late payment charges:

Charges on late payments have been revised. These charges can range from ₹100 to ₹1,300 depending on the outstanding amount.

Rewards and finance charges:

Redemption of rewards for statement credit will attract a charge of ₹50. In addition, a finance charge of 3.75% per month will also be applicable for those using the revolving credit facility.

Easy-EMI processing charge:

A processing charge of up to ₹299 will be applicable for availing the Easy-EMI option online or offline.
