TRAI had made some changes in the rules on Friday and the compensation amount was also increased. After this, users are going to be directly affected by this. However, now the mobile companies have also reacted to this, so let us tell you about it too-

TRAI takes new decisions from time to time. But now telecom companies have to suffer losses due to this. Now due to such decisions, the concern of telecom companies has increased. To deal with all this, the companies have also made a plan. Today we are going to tell you about the new rules and the future plans of telecom companies. Along with this, we will also give important information related to BSNL 5G.

Actually, on the one hand, new rules have been implemented by TRAI, on the other hand, the news of the entry of BSNL 5G has increased the concern of telecom providers. Now this concern is going to reach the central government. Because the companies have decided to knock the door of the central government to deal with such problems. A new report has also come out regarding this. It has been claimed in this report that the companies can meet Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia very soon. Information has also been given by the companies regarding this. But one thing is clear that if this happens, it is going to have a direct impact on mobile users as well, which can bother them a lot. TRAI’s decision troubled everyone- TRAI’s new rule may put a burden on telecom providers and may also increase the cost of the network. ET’s report claims that representatives of the companies may soon meet Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia regarding this issue. Companies say that in such an economy, such strict rules are not there in any country. This also affects the telecom industry and the benefits given to the customers may also be reduced.

What are the things included in TRAI’s new decision

TRAI has implemented new standards to measure the quality of service. This decision is going to be implemented from October 1. In this, the network of telecom companies will be checked. After this decision, very strict rules have been implemented for telecom companies. The amount of fine in case of network disruption has been doubled. However, there are some rules in this, such as this fine will have to be paid in case of network disruption for 24 consecutive hours.

Response of telecom companies-

The company executive said, ‘This issue will be raised in the second round of meeting with the Union Minister. There are many things which are not in the hands of even the telecom companies. In such a situation, we are hopeful that he will listen to us. We will also talk to TRAI about this and discuss the challenges of telecom in detail. The matter will be discussed in full and we will also put forward our point with some points. Because if this happens, telecom companies will have to suffer huge losses.’

On this matter, Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the body of Jio, Airtel and Vodafone-Idea, has given its statement. The body says, ‘We are definitely against the strictness of the new rules, but we will follow them for now. These rules are going to directly affect the telecom operators. Because it will affect everyone. While the costing of telecom operators will increase, it will also affect the benefits given to the customers.’

Rules will have to be followed strictly-

  • If a network is down for 12 consecutive hours, it will be counted as 1 day. That is, telecom companies will have to give 1 day more validity.
  • Companies will have to pay compensation in case the broadband service is down for 3 days. Earlier the compensation amount was Rs 50 thousand, which has been increased to Rs 1 lakh.
  • Telecom companies will have to pay in case of network outage for 24 hours. That is, telecom companies will have to make a lot of improvements regarding this network.
  • Many other things have also been included in TRAI rules. Companies will have to strictly follow the Broadband and Wireline, Wireless Services Regulations, 2024 and will have to pay a penalty for not doing so.
